Blended from a selection of some of the world’s best single malts and then matured in naked first fill sherry casks, Naked Malt is the first naked single malt ever made.
Production
At Naked Malt, we make whiskies differently: we carefully source a selection of the world’s finest single malts, and blend these together to create our whisky. After blending the malt together, we pour the blended whisky into our Naked first-fill sherry casks. These Naked casks are just that, naked – never before touched by whisky. As a result, the whisky acquires layers of rich, fruity flavours, where they otherwise might have been absent. We leave the whisky to mature with the Naked casks for a minimum of six months and that is it – Naked!
Appearance
When you pour a dram of Naked Malt into a glass, it fills the vessel with a deep golden hue with a hint of russet. Pure, clear and bright, it glimmers invitingly in the light.
Aroma
Malt gives forth a vibrant flourish of scent. Caramel and buttery toffee pass across the tongue, mingling with sherry and oak, laced with hints of citrus. Orchard fruits swell and add their lightness, and the malty sweetness lingers.
Palate
On the palate, Malt is medium-full and plenty mature for its age, with Speyside fruitiness creating a seductive sweet-savoury interplay of flavours that is not as obvious as a whisky made entirely from malt but that’s no less enjoyable. The spirit’s pureness of style and texture are there for the discerning drinker to explore, and the flavours linger long after the last sip has been savoured.
Finish
